Terms of Service

Effective September 29, 2026. These terms apply to telephone and internet service provided by Nova Ohio Telephone LLC, d/b/a Nova Telephone ("Nova Telephone," "we," "us"). Regulated telephone services are also subject to our tariffs on file with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, which control where they differ from these terms.

Service

We provide service to the address on your account. Internet speeds are "up to" speeds and may vary with network conditions, equipment and location. You agree not to use the service for unlawful purposes, to resell it without our permission, or in a way that harms our network or other customers.

Billing and payment

Service is billed monthly in advance; usage-based charges (such as long distance) are billed in arrears. Payment is due by the date shown on your bill. You may pay by card or bank account, and may enroll in automatic payments, which you authorize us to charge each month until you cancel autopay. Late payments may incur a late fee as permitted by our tariffs, and service may be suspended for non-payment after notice.

Taxes and fees

Federal, state and local taxes, 911 charges and regulatory fees are added to your bill as required by law.

Equipment

Equipment we provide (such as modems, routers or radios) remains our property unless you purchased it, and must be returned within 30 days after service ends or you may be charged its replacement cost.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel service at any time by contacting our office by phone, email or mail. Unless you have agreed to a term commitment, there is no cancellation fee. Because service is billed monthly in advance, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and charges already billed are not refunded or pro-rated for unused days; you will not be billed for any later period. Credits for service outages are provided as required by our tariffs and Ohio law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate and promptly refund any billing error to your original payment method.

911

911 service is provided with our telephone service. For voice-over-internet services, 911 may not work during a power or internet outage, and you must keep your service address up to date so emergency responders can locate you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law and our tariffs, our liability for service interruptions or errors is limited to a credit for the affected service, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Changes

We may update these terms or our rates with notice as required by law. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the change.
